Citizens Ratification Amendment

Politicians and government employees may have interests such as reelection and maintaining power rather than the interests of the governed.

Proposal

We would amend the Constitution of the United States, not to change how we currently create laws and regulations, but to give American citizens ratification rights over all laws and regulations.

"The people of the United States and of every State shall not be subject to any Federal or State law or regulation which the citizens have not ratified. All laws and regulations shall be ratified monthly. All ratifications must be conducted electronically with quantum security or higher. Each ratification vote in the United States must be certified under oath or penalty of perjury. A majority of citizens in each State, or nationally, as applicable, shall be sufficient for ratification. If a law or regulation is not ratified for three consecutive months, it shall be stricken unless properly reenacted or promulgated. Any person or civil Officer of the United States who unlawfully tampers with any election in the United States or in any State commits a high crime, punishable as treason by the United States, or by impeachment, or both."
